Literacy Theme Schedule Oct: Predicting Feb: Questioning Nov: Summarizing Mar/Apr: Inferring Dec/Jan: Connecting May: Imaging The schedule above represents when the entire school will emphasize a specific strategy. Direct Instructors begin daily instruction one month before school-wide application is scheduled.

  4. Literacy Training for Teachers • PTHS utilizes school improvement days and monthly early release days to conduct literacy trainings for our teachers. • Early Release Thursdays: Each Thursday students are dismissed early to provide meeting opportunities and PLC time. • Literacy Groups – once a month, groups meet to discuss the current literacy strategy. Each group is led by several direct instructors who share ideas with appliers. • From time to time, we split into two larger groups of direct instructors and appliers for specialized training.
