Global Warming:Man or Nature? By Carly Rech
Definition The Earth’s atmosphere is warming because of the release of “greenhouse gases.”
Greenhouse Gases Traps Sun’s radiation into the Earth’s atmosphere Include water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, ozone, nitrous oxide, other gases and soot
Problem? • Increasing temperatures can causes climate changes • Some scientists claim Global Warming has the potential to destroy certain environments
Sun • Earth’s heat source • Temperature is continuously increasing • Impact • More heat given off to Earth • Approximately ½ of Suns energy evaporates water
Water Vapor • Most important Greenhouse gas • ½ of the solar energy absorbed at the Earth’s surface evaporates
History • There has been climate changes since the beginning of time
Conclusion • Human activity is not significant enough to be the only factor in Global Warming. • The sun wields the greatest influence over the heat Earth receives and therefore our climate. • Climate change is natural and has been occurring before humans became involved.
