this year we’ve kicked some... The Committee has worked well as a team to: • keep walks and weekends thriving, planning ahead and attracting steady stream of new walkers • introduce newconservation days and socials • update website including adding a conservation page, redesigning and clarifying home, walks and other pages • support each other, working as a team and out with our individual roles

The Role of Chair The role involves: • Chairing committee meetings and AGM • Making sure that day to day business is managed and completed • Keeping people happy and supported • Planning the agenda with the Secretary • Liaising with Area and NDWG Committees • Role is usually taken by an existing member of the committee
The Role of Secretary The role involves: • Arranging and minuting committee meetings, setting agendas with the Chair • Communicating with Area and NDWG committees, members and Ramblers HQ • Responsible and supportive committee member
Treasure! • Ramblers’ financial year: October 1st 2015 - September 30th 2016 • Cash balance down since last year due to • Different weekend payment schedule • Christmas & New Year weekends paid for but not (yet!) opened • Slightly more spent on weekends • Receipts slightly down -tighter margins, a couple of weekends • not sold out Finances fluid but healthy!
The Role of Treasurer The role involves: • Doling out pocket money for the weekend organisers and buying sweets for the occasional social • Banking a cheque or two • Reminding members to pay up for weekends and the occasional social. But not very often, because you’re all lovely! • Spreadsheets!
Membership (244 on 1/11/15) • 230 active members on 1/10/16 Remains fairly stable with a turnover of 20-25% • Steady stream of new enquiries, people find out about group via the Website and Facebook page helped by strong search engine presence • Thank you for your support!
The Role of Membership Secretary • It’s always fun chatting to new members on walks encouraging them to join • Going forward you can develop the role as you want - there is plenty of scope for new ideas about how to attract new members and retain existing ones. The role includes: • maintaining the group's membership list, dealing with enquiries from people interested in joining, liaising with the Ramblers, Weekends & Communications roles, attending meetings with the other fabulous committee members!
Communications Currently the role includes: • Emailing regular digests to members, informing members of upcoming socials, walks and weekends, relaying communications from the Committee and HQ However the role has potential to grow: • NDWG has an active facebook presence and part of the role in the future could be managing our facebook page
The Role of Communications Officer • Communications is a low key, but valuable role on the committee • It requires regular access to the internet but otherwise it is a straightforward and enjoyable role

The Conservation Office role is to promote the event, confirm the dates with the Volunteer Lead at the conservation organisation and to coordinate getting the NDWG team of people to the event This is a very rewarding role within the committee that doesn't require a large time commitment
