Early Life • Born December 23, 1867 in Delta, Louisiana. • Birth name: Sarah Breedlove • Parents, Owen and Minerva Breedlove,. • Orphaned at 7. • At ten she moved across the river with her sister to Vicksburg. • She got a job as a maid. • She was married at 14 to Moses McWilliams to escape her sisters abusive husband. • Had daughter, Lelia, two years later her husband died. • Married again to John Davis in 1878, ended in 1903. • In 1906 married third time to Charles Joseph Walker, divorced 1910. • Started losing her hair from scalp ailment
