Overview • What are Holographic Adaptive Optics? • Who is doing the research and where? • How will the development benefit the military?
Holographic Adaptive Optics • A process that uses lenses and sensors that can correct for atmospheric disturbances. • Satellites would have the capability to be seen and see clearer.
Research • The project is being conducted at the Laser and Optics Research Center. • The process was developed by Dr. Geoff Anderson. • He is accompanied by Cadet Will Holmes and Cadet Richard Carter in his Research.
Benefits • Allow for the service to better see its satellites. • There have been various forms of technology to view satellites. • The new system uses holograms and is condensed into a device the size of a standard DVD player.
Other Benefits • Devices could be placed on Unmanned Aircraft Systems. • UAS are perfect candidates for the technology due to their type and height of flight. • In addition, The process would have uses within the medical arena.
