Marginal Generation Costs Publicly Available Models and Data Thursday, April 19, 2012
Background Portfolio Modification • PG&E's 2011 GRC Phase 2 settlement, D.11-12-053, adopted December 15, 2011, calls for a workshop prior to May 1, 2012, to identify and discuss publicly available models and data bases covering generation marginal costs. • PG&E has not committed to the use of a particular methodology or set of data for its 2014 GRC Phase 2 marginal generation cost showing but plans on presenting its findings with respect to publicly available models and data in order to solicit opinions/thoughts by the workshop participants that will help inform PG&E’s analysis and testimony. • PG&E will present its findings on: 1) Publicly available models and data; 2) Results using the CPUC’s E3 models and inputs and 3) Results using PG&E’s internal model but with inputs based on publicly available data rather than PG&E’s confidential data.
