  32. Proposal for Cook-cum-helper engaged in MDM Scheme Irrespective of the enrolment In the state there is 1 Cook and 1 Helper in every schools From 2012-13, 74852 additional cooks are required based on actual enrolment Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India

ISSUES • In schools only one cook-cum-helper is put in place irrespective of enrolment in the schools • The cook gets a remuneration of Rs.600/- and the helper gets a remuneration of Rs.400/- per month and paid irregularl • Only 48% Kitchen –cum-Stores constructed. • Less working days covered • Poor Management structure at State Level. • Irregularity in supply of food grains . • No school in the districts is receiving cooking cost in advance. • Irregularity in supply of eggs in the schools and complaints about the quality of eggs. • Children going home to take food, MDM food is not tasty. • No Health checkups • In Bhoud,KEONJHAR,MAYURBHANJ-MDM has been stopped for some days.
