We’ll be staying with the host families so that students can- • get an opportunity to talk with native speakers. • learn about the Kiwi culture and share their Chinese culture with the host families. • enjoy Kiwi cuisine by having breakfast and dinner with their homestay families. • learn to take initiative while doing house hold chores.
Start Sunday 11th April. Reach Queenstown, NZ Monday, 12th April, 2:30pm Transferred to homestay from the airport.
Tuesday, 13th April 2010 • Morning- English Classes. • Afternoon- • Queenstown Orientation -see Queenstown beach, the wharf with the fishing boats, Queenstown Park. • 2. Steam Ship cruise to Walter Peak farm- • Cruise-showcases some of Lake Wakatipu’s most beautiful alpine scenery and allows plenty of time to explore the decks and bridge.Visit the engine room, view the collection of historical photos in the Fo’c’sle gallery or join a sing-along with the onboard pianist. • Sheep shearing show and afternoon tea. • www.realjourneys.co.nz/Main/Farmexcursions/

Learn about the history of goldmining, try goldpanning in the Arrow river. There’s still gold to be found. Visit • Lake Museum • Arrowtown museum • Arrow river trail 50 min

Monday, 19th April 2010 Morning- English Classes Afternoon- Graduation ceremony and farewell party with Maori cultural performance. Jetboating (optional)- students pay
Tuesday, 20th April 2010 Morning- Shopping Afternoon- Fly back to Hong Kong at 1:30pm
Things you need to take with you • HKID, School ID • Passport • E tickets, Travel Insurance • NZD 150-200 for a 10 NZD phone card • Warm clothing- It will be around 8-12 degrees. Jacket, sweaters, inners, mufflers, cap, gloves (if you feel really cold) • Sunscreen lotion. Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap (toiletries) • Camera, video, charger, cellphones • Snacks • Medicines for headache, fever, cold etc. (not in hand carry) • Umbrella/windcheater/raincoat • A gift for homestay parents for 20/30 HKD.
Please! Do not carry • Any cooked food, meat, fish or poultry items, fruits and plants. • Any liquid like face cream, drinks etc in hand carry. • Any sharp object like scissors, pins, knife etc. • Drugs in any form • Too much luggage….(20 kg). Travel light!!!! One suitcase and one handbag are enough.
Where to meet and when We will meet at the AIRPORT Terminal 1, Aisle G At 3pm sharp
Rules and regulations Go straight to the homestays, once the activities are over. Stay together as a group during and after the activities for safety reasons. Be with the homestay parents and enjoy the cultural exchange, after dinner. Tell them about HK and ask lots of questions about NZ. If you want to visit any place, ask your homestay to take you there. If you want any thing specific, ask your homestay mum/dad. Be punctual for classes and activities.
