  4. Year of Solidification • Carry on the good practices you established in 9th grade • Continue fulfilling core requirements • Select electives to fulfill prerequisites for advanced courses • Begin to think beyond yourself • Continue to challenge yourself

  10. Courses Selections • U.S. History 1-2 • Phy. Ed 11 • Can take for full year (one semester for requirement/one semester elective credit • Health 2, if applicable

  11. Recommended Courses • Math • Teacher Recommendation • College Bound: Take at least 3 years of math (up to at least Advanced Algebra)

  13. Recommended Courses • Science • College Bound: Must take at least 3 years of science

  14. Honors Courses • Make sure this is what you want • Check with teacher for syllabus • Expect to be challenged • Honors courses increase student G.P.A.

  15. Study Hall • Recommended if students struggle in academics • Recommended for one or both semesters • Recommended for students active in extra curriculars

  16. Zero Hour • Class meets daily from 7:00-7:50 a.m. • Students must provide their own transportation • Students may take additional class, study hall or dismissal for 7th hour

  17. Alternate Courses • Please make sure two alternate classes are listed in case primary electives are unable to be scheduled

  21. Co-Op Prerequisites • You usually need 3-4 semesters of background courses • You must be qualified to be included in a co-op program • Discuss with one of your current teachers in the department offering the co-op

  22. Youth Apprenticeship Program • Automotive Technician (2 yrs) • Drafting/design (1 or 2 yrs) • Finance (1 yr) • Health care (1 yr) • Industrial Equipment Technician (1 yr) • Welding (1 yr) • Hospitality (1 yr) • Machine Tool ( 1 or 2 yrs) • Manufacturing ( 1 yr)
