Writing Prompt Procedures: 1) Write name and class period on Writing Prompt Rubric. 2) Type your name and period on your Writing Prompt Essay. 3) Staple Writing Prompt Rubric on top of Writing Prompt Essay. 4) All Writing Prompts must be typed. You will lose points on your overall score if these procedures are not followed.

Exploration and Enlightenment Writing Prompt Directions: Use your knowledge from 7.11, the political and economic change in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, to address the following prompt in paragraph form. Prompt: Europe changed greatly between the 16th and 18th centuries as a result of multiple movements. The Age of Exploration, the Scientific Revolution, and the Enlightenment all helped shape history. The explorations exposed the world to new lands and unlimited opportunities because of the new ability to tap into various resources. Scientists and mathematicians opened society’s eyes to new ways of thinking and inventions during the Scientific Revolution. During the Enlightenment the influence from the Scientific Revolution led to new ideas about government, which ultimately led to democracy. Task: Choose one key figure from this time period and describe their role. Discuss the cause and effect that their impact left on exploration, science, or influence on government.
