Background Information • Karl Blossfeldt was born in 1865 and died in 1932 • He was born in Schielo, Harz, Germany • He is a German photographer, teacher and sculptor, and artist • Worker in Berlin, Germany • He did not see himself as a photographer • He designed his own camera • Began his photographic career in 1897
