Tips for Search • Choose the right keywords – they will mostly be part of, or derive from the text of the question. Try more than one combination or use the ‘advance search’ functionality to get optimal coverage. • Search for keywords (ctrl-F) within papers that touch the subject but don’t necessarily deal with it directly (such as review papers) • Alternate between PubMed and Google scholar. • Use PubMed when you want to sort your results by date of publication (best when looking for the most recent research papers/reviews) • Use Google scholar when you want to sort by relevance. • In many cases, Google search and wikipedia can also be helpful. • Write your answers on a word file first and then copy them to the moodle in order to avoid the loss of unsaved data.
