Presentation of the stage of information system for global environmental monitoring (UHMR). This server is: Independent (no budget for anything) Low cost: not special hardware and software Mobile: on virtual drives, and external HDD can be started from different locations (3 for the now) Can collect data, even with slow dial-up connection and successfully finish the work (resending need more speed). Resending is trough: mail service, ftp, http, GSM (as a test).
Presentation of the stage of information system for global environmental monitoring (UHMR). • Min. configuration: 1 PC P4 2.6- 3.0 GHz / RAM 256 – 512 Mb.; • Plus 1 or 2 PCs for 3D and numerical modeling in the future; • Operating system: WindowsXP (Home or Pro) • Applications: one application manager is developed to control work of more then 75 called application • No special requirements for graphics and animation.
Presentation of the stage of information system for global environmental monitoring (UHMR). Everyday score: • Products: 750 files / 360 Mb / 85 min. of work • Temporary 5 day data: 500 files (230 TXTs and 270 PICs) • Applications: one application manager is developed to control work of more then 75 called application (scheduled in 85 minutes) • 3D graphics and 3D animation started with old fashion raytracers.
Presentation of the stage of information system for global environmental monitoring (UHMR). • Evident progress: • Application management (scheduling of apps) • OS administration and backup • Data retrieving procedures • 3D graphical outputs • 3D animation products • GSM connection procedures (send SMS procedure pass test from connected GSM device) • …
Presentation of the stage of information system for global environmental monitoring (UHMR). • Evident weakness: • Everyday backup is not reliable procedure if the place of start is changed; • Even that the server is developed as a file system more then 5 MS Access databases are in use, mainly to achieve the MS SQL jet engine as data retrieving method • Slow progress to Linux environment and adoption of numerical model as a part of the system
If some event is detected – related object can change the form, color, appear or live the 3D space! Choosing raytracing as a main 3D graphics and animations technique, great control is achieved over the space, lights and objects. Now, they are context sensitive (UHMR).
