Uhtna school has got long craft traditions. The main types of the crafts are: textiles (e.g embroidery, appliques, crocheting, knitting, felting, weaving, sewing), woodcraft, papercraft and clay craft. In every May, to celebrate the Mothers‘ Day, the exhibition of students handicraft works is organised. Crafts traditions at Uhtna school from 1986 - 2018

Handicrafts from recycled materials • the candle holders made from glass jars and decoarated with the lace of the old curtains • the toy snakes made from the ties • the pillows decorated with using textile paints
Art, craft and technology in the curriculum of Uhtna school • Craft and art are taught in the classes 1-3 by class teachers, mostly in their classrooms. Every class has 3 lessons in a week. • In classes 4-9 the subjects are taught by special teachers (art, craft, technology) in the special classrooms. Every class has 2 • There are extra curriculum activities: art lessons and lessons of home economics. The activities are led by our teachers. • Our students go to exhibitions, museums; and we make good cooperation with the local youth centre to develop children‘s skills in art and craft.
