  18. Drop Out Rate: The Past • Entered by school districts • The ability to locate students limited • Duplicate dropouts in the system in the same year and over multiple years

Drop Out Rate: The Present • Drop out pre-populated – districts able to find reentered dropouts across the state • The ability to remove duplicate dropouts in the same year across districts and only count the student once as a dropout in a four year period for the cohort • Only the last school accountable in the graduation rate
