My Summer Fun Journal By___________________
Dear Parents, It is my hope that you have enjoyed your child’s journals this year as much as I have. I certainly have tried to share my enthusiasm with you. The journals and seeing how the children have grown in their writing has been, by far, my most favorite part of teaching this year. I so want your camper to continue with journals and writing over the summer. I know you are all familiar with the saying “if you don’t use it, you’ll lose it”. I cannot bear the thought of any one of my students “losing” anything they have gained this year in journal writing. I have tried to create a fun, fun summer journal for you and your child to write in this summer. I know you will have the summer skills packet and that is something totally different from this. I would encourage you to challenge your child to work through the summer skills packet, as well as, this summer fun journal. They have come too far to stop now. They should only work through a few pages a week in both books. Any child who brings their Summer Fun Journal back to me in the fall will receive a special reward. I think this is worth rewarding. It is so important. I hope you will take me up on this challenge! Sincerely, Mrs. Myers
