  2. Rechtvaardiging • Blootstelling aan stralingsbronnen is gerechtvaardigd bij: • Medische diagnose • Medische therapie • Wetenschappelijk onderzoek • Signaleren van brand

  3. ALARA-principe • AS LOW AS REASONABLY ACHIEVABLE • Zo laag als redelijkerwijs mogelijk (verkrijgbaar) is • Economische argumenten • Politieke argumenten • Psychologische argumenten

  4. Dosislimieteneffectieve jaardosis (mSv/jaar) • De maximaal toegelaten equivalente dosis voor beroepshalve blootgestelde personen bedraagt 100 mSv per 5 glijdende opeenvolgende jaren (met in deze periode maximaal één jaar met 50 mSv, behalve voor vrouwen). • Bovendien moet het ALARA principe (As Low As Reasonable Achievable) strikt toegepast worden. • Voor de brede lagen van de bevolking is de maximaal toegelaten dosis bepaald op 1 mSv per jaar.
