Landline, Please • Use a landline if possible - if not, test your phone at the location and time that you will be having your interview call. No speakerphone please. • Always check the equipment beforehand – Skype included. Stand • Standing causes your voice to project • No slumping in a chair or looking down at the desk • A projected voice = confidence and competency • Energy and Passion Mirror Mirror on the Wall • Have a mirror or window nearby so you can watch yourself. • Am I relaxed? Am I standing tall and projecting competence and confidence? Smile • You can hear a smile over the phone
Personalization and Engagement • Use the interviewer’s name once or twice during the interview and conversation.
