Class Rules 1. Respect all people and property. 2. Be in your seat, quiet, and ready to work when the bell rings. 3. Raise your hand if you wish to speak; be courteous and wait your turn. 4. Raise your hand for permission to leave your seat. 5. NO drinks, food, gum, or cell-phones, etc. are permitted in class. These items will be confiscated. 6. Be prepared for class EVERY DAY!! (materials, home-learning/h.w., planner......
Consequences for Violations 1st Violation– A verbal warning. 2nd Violation- A second verbal warning and a conduct cut. 3rd Violation- Detention; conduct cut. 4th Violation- Parent Contact; conduct cut 5th Violation- Refer to Counselor for a “behavior contract”. 6th Violation- Administrative referral
Notes: a.) The teacher reserves the right to skip one or more steps and/or use other disciplinary consequences depending on the severity of the infraction. b.) Students have five (5) days to serve a detention. Detentions are held Mon.-Thurs. ONLY; from 7:25-7:55 a.m. Also, three (3) un-served detentions will result in an administrative referral.
Tardy to School or Class Policy Students are required to be “on time” to school and to each class. ALL tardiness is considered unexcused unless the student has a yellow hall pass or a white pass from the office. 1-3 tardiness- a verbal warning; no change in conduct. 4th tardiness- parent/guardian contact AND drop 1 letter grade in conduct. 5th tardiness- detention AND drop 2 letter grades in conduct. 6th tardiness- referral to Counselor AND drop 3 letter grades in conduct.
Materials & Supplies • (1) three ring binder or “duotang” folder with pockets • (1) pack of dividers (at least 5 dividers) • (1) journal or learning-log • (2) pens (blue or black ink only!!!) • (1) RED pen for checking • (1) pack of index cards • tracing paper Due: August 26-27
Classroom Procedures • ALL papers must have the following heading in the UPPER, RIGHT-HAND CORNER margin. Papers with improper or missing headings will NOT be accepted: FIRST-LAST NAME DATE HISTORY, PER. # • All assignments are to be done in BLUE or BLACK ink unless told otherwise by the teacher. • Missing assignments will receive a zero “0” at the end of each grading period. Late assignments will only be accepted at teacher’s discretion.
Classroom Procedures-con’d. • If a student is absent, s/he must make-up the work missed within a reasonable amount of time. IT IS THE STUDENT’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ASK THE TEACHER WHAT WORK NEEDS TO BE MADE-UP!!!! • Make sure your immediate area is clean before you leave. Throw away any papers when you are dismissed and leave the room; NOT DURING CLASS TIME!! THE TEACHER WILL DISMISS THE CLASS; NOT THE BELL!!
Home Learning/Homework Policy Students can expect to have homework on a daily basis.
