Conversation After the movie, Barbara and Debby are standing in front of the movie theater. They are complaining about something during the movie in the theater. (B = Barbara, D = Debby)
B: I just couldn’t enjoy the movie, because someone’s cell phone kept ringing. D: Me neither. Can you believe it? Some people even answered their calls and chatted!
B: That’s so rude. Right now, I don’t think cell phones are that great. D: Well, they can really botherother people who are watching movies or trying to sleep on trains and buses.
B: And people use them too much. People wastea lot of time and money using their cell phones, in my opinion. D: But remember, we’re both angry because those cell phones stopped us from enjoying the movie. I think there are some good things about cell phones, too.
B: Of course. They are very convenient. People can receive calls anywhere, anytime. D: And with cell phones, we can always make calls to our family and friends. B: Right. I guess there are good and bad things about cell phones, like any other new technology.
D: I agree. But we need some rules about when and where it is polite to use them. B: How about this: Turn off your cell phone in a movie theater! END
