Safe Thoughtful Accountable Respectful
A Starblazer is … Someone who follows the rules in the car rider area to assure that everyone leaves school safely. While in the car rider area, students should sit quietly, keep hands, feet and other objects to themselves, and listen for their names, respecting the space of others who are waiting. When going to vehicles students should walk to assigned spot and follow the directions of the duty teachers.
SAFE IS… • Walking in the area. • Keeping hands, feet, and other objects to yourself. • Staying seated until your name is called.
SAFE IS NOT. . . • Moving to different places while in line. • Throwing things at others. • Touching others with objects. • Sticking your feet out while waiting. • Standing up in line. • Running to your car.
THOUGHTFUL IS . . . • Keeping quiet in hallway so you and others can hear names called. • Allowing others to move past you to get to your car.
THOUGHTFUL IS NOT . . . • Shouting or talking loudly • Not moving out of the way to let someone get past you • Teasing or hitting other students while waiting in line
ACCOUNTABLE IS … • Staying in line • Listening for your name to be called • Reporting to the duty teacher immediately when you hear your name
ACCOUNTABLE IS NOT. . . • Moving around to different areas • Not listening for your name • Not reporting to the duty teacher immediately when your name is called
RESPECTFUL IS … • Using good manners • Saying “excuse me” when you have to ask someone to move • Smiling at others
RESPECTFUL IS NOT … • Being rude to others • Touching others inappropriately • Getting in the personal space of others
