Are You Full of Self or Full Of The Holy Spirit?. John 16. I. The Holy Spirit Is Not. Four things He is not:. First, He is not an "it" but He is a distinct person. John 14:14-17, "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. . . . the Spirit of truth." .

John 14:14-17, "You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. . . . the Spirit of truth."
John 16:8, "When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment Verses 13-14, "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you."
Acts, 1, we find these words about the work and person of the Holy Spirit. Verse 6: "So when they met together, they asked him, 'Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?' Jesus said to them, 'It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.'"
Fourth, we see that He is not a substitute for God but He is Deity. Acts, Chapter 5, is an interesting experience. "Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet.
Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit (a person? deity?) and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men, but to God."
2 Corinthians 13:14 "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
John 16:8, Jesus says, "When he comes (the Holy Spirit), He will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment."
