  2. Treviso Città D'arte • Da Ponte S. Martino, vicino alla Stazione Ferroviaria, attraverso Corso del Popolo, giungiamo al cuore della città, Piazza dei Signori che rosseggia delle gotiche merlature del Palazzo dei Trecento e della Torre civica.Proseguiamo lungo il Calmaggiore e giungiamo al Duomo, sovrapposizione di stili su fondazioni romaniche, con candida facciata neoclassica.Raggiungiamo l'imponente cattedrale di S. Nicolò, XIII sec., di fianco a cui potremo ammirare la Sala del Capitolo dei Domenicani del Seminario Vescovile affrescata da Tommaso Da Modena.Attraverso le vie ombreggiate della 'città giardino', eccoci in Borgo Cavour, dove visitare il Museo Civico e proseguire lungo via Canova con belle case medievali che ci riconduce in Piazza Duomo.Addentrandoci paralleli al Calmaggiore giungiamo in Piazza S. Vito: sul retro il caratteristico canale dei Buranelli costeggiato da un vicolo porticato. Poco lontana l'altra imponente chiesa romanico-gotica, S. Francesco.I colori della terra e dell'acqua si incrociano all'isolotto della pescheria, su cui si affaccia Cà dei Carraresi, rinomata sede espositiva.Prendendo via S.Agostino, eccoci all'ex convento S. Caterina, oggi museo che ospita le storie di S. Orsola affre-scate da Tommaso Da Modena: da qui, attraverso P.zza S. Maria Maggiore con l'omonima chiesa, raggiungiamo il punto in cui il Sile incontra il Cagnan, a Ponte Dante, costeggiamo il fiume incontrando l'ex ospedale, oggi sede universitaria, ed entriamo in P.zza S. Leonardo da cui raggiungiamo a sinistra la Loggia dei Cavalieri.Di fronte, attraverso via S. Margherita e l'omonimo ponte, percorriamo la riviera che costeggia il Sile fino a Ponte S. Martino, da cui siamo partiti.

  3. Treviso the Medieval City.. From Ponte S. Martino, near the railway station, along Corso del Popolo, we reach the heart of the city at Piazza dei Signori (the main square) with its red tints from the Gothic battlements of Palazzo dei Trecento and Torre civica.Continuing along Calmaggiore (the main street) we reach the Cathedral, an overlap of styles with the Romanesque.From here you can proceed to the imposing S. Nicolò cathedral, of the thirteenth century. Next to the cathedral you can admire the Sala del Capitolo dei Domenicani in the Diocesan Seminary frescoed by Tommaso da Modena.Through the shaded streets of the "garden city", you will come to Borgo Cavour, where it is possible to visit the Museo Civico.From here you can walk along Via Canova with its beautiful medieval houses, returning to Piazza Duomo.Further in and parallel to Calmaggiore we reach Piazza S. Vito. At the back of the square you will find the characteristic canale dei Buranelli that flows along a porticoed lane. Abit further on you will see another imposing Romanesque-Gothic church of S. Francesco.The colors of the earth and the water meet together in the little island of the fish market. Here, Cà dei Carraresi faces onto the river, an important venue of art exhibitions.Taking via S. Agostino, you come to the ex convent S. Caterina, today a museum that houses the frescoes of Tommaso da Modena that depict the life story of S. Orsola.From here, crossing Piazza S. Maria Maggiore with its church of the same name, we arrive to the point where the Sile meets the Cagnan River at Ponte Dante.Following the river we find the ex-hospital, today the site of the university. Entering Piazza San Leonardo we reach the Loggia dei Cavalieri on the left.In front of you, taking via S. Margherita and the bridge of the same name, you can follow the banks that coast the Sile River until Ponte S. Martino, the starting point of our itinerary.

  6. Aeroporto Canova Treviso • L’aeroporto S. Angelo di Treviso, nato come campo di fortuna per soddisfare le esigenze dell’Aero club di Treviso, diviene aeroporto civile attorno alla metà degli anni 30, ma solo nel 1953, su iniziativa degli enti locali, sorge la prima aerostazione civile. Nel maggio dello stesso anno viene inaugurato il primo volo internazionale a cui si aggiungono altri voli con destinazione Londra e Vienna.Fino all’apertura dell’ scalo di Tessera nel 1960, Il S. Angelo, diviene l’aeroporto di riferimento anche per la vicina città di Venezia.
