  4. Will = desire, hunger, drive, ambition, willingness, your reason for being, mindset

  5. Skill = ability, competence, capability, something you are known for, niche, skillset

  7. Where are you on this Matrix now? Where will you move first? e.g. HW Where will you move next? e.g. HS

  8. Both are important. But a leader with ‘high-will’ is more likely to grab an opportunity than a leader with merely ‘high-skill’.

  9. Your task is: inch towards high-will and high-skill, one brick, one FY win at a time.

  10. To increase will= find out what really excites you (your OCD!). Make it your life’s purpose. Is it making a difference? Is it numbers? Is it impact? Also, find out what’s holding you back!

  11. To increase Skill= Apply the P word Practice. Practice. Practice. As Gladwell says: 10,000 hours of practice! That’s over 12 years if you spend 4 hours every working day!

  12. If you can, watch a Nike clip on YouTube called Rise & Shine. This will show you how to prepare for and win a Gold in leadership!

  13. Whatever is the benchmark in your niche, you are well positioned to make it big if you do not lose the will and keep on building the skill!
