Common Applications • Quality Assurance Tracking • Under the DDS package, “QA” or “QAT” • “CO” not used frequently, but can be used to add community activities • “MGT” not used frequently, but can be used to track sterilizer testing, staff training • “TE” or “TECH” is the one used mostly for QA tracking
Common Applications • Technical QA Functions (TE) • PADA: lists patients by range of procedure codes (can be used for recall) • SCOM: tracks codes or patients with certain codes; used frequently by managers
Common Applications • SCOM • Can be used for GPRA or any reason you need codes • Examples: • Access to care for time period of 10/1/06-9/30/07 (100 people in user population) • How many sealants were done in FY 2007 (which began Oct. 1, 2007)? • How many fluoride applications were done Jan. 1, 2007 – Dec. 31, 2007? Common Applications • Reports • DANN: Dentist productivity (annual) • DMON: Dentist productivity (monthly) • HANN: Hygienist productivity (annual) • HMON: Hygienist productivity (monthly) • RDIR: Service minutes, DDS+RDH • RIND: Services & minutes, by date • RCOM: Community visit list
Common Applications • DANN • Under Service Minute/Level of Care Reports (RSVC) • True reflection of dentist productivity UNLESS dental assistants are included in data entry (takes out hygienists & assistants, even though assistants are working under dentists) • To get total services or total number of certain procedure codes, must add up columns. • Just put month and year
Common Applications • DANN • For calendar year 2007, how many total services and service minutes did Dr. Ricks have? • For calendar year 2007, how many comprehensive exams (0150) did Dr. Smith have?
Common Applications • DANN • For calendar year 2007, how many total services and service minutes did Dr. Ricks have? 167 • For calendar year 2007, how many comprehensive exams (0150) did Dr. Smith have? 4
Common Applications • HANN • Under Service Minute/Level of Care Reports (RSVC) • True reflection of hygienist productivity (regardless of whether a DA is included in data entry) • To get total services or total number of certain procedure codes, must add up columns. • Just put month and year
Common Applications • HANN • For calendar year 2007, how many scaling and root planing services did Cathy Hollister provide (4341 or 4342)? • How many sealants did she apply? • For the same period, how many services did the hygienist Marilyn Johnson provide?
Common Applications • HANN • For calendar year 2007, how many scaling and root planing services did Cathy Hollister provide (4341 or 4342)? 4 • How many sealants did she apply? 21 • For the same period, how many services did the hygienist Marilyn Johnson provide? 47
Common Applications • RDIR • Provides breakdown by levels of services • Includes dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants (if put in) • Reflection of total productivity by site (for service units) • For some reason, RDIR does not equal DANN + HANN • Must start with specific date (010107 or Jan. 1, 2007)
Common Applications • RDIR • For calendar year 2007, how many services, service minutes, and RVUs did David Grau produce in the RDIR report? • For calendar year 2007, how many services, service minutes, and RVUs did David Grau produce in the DANN report? • How do you explain the differences between the two reports?
Common Applications • RDIR • RDIR: David Grau, 2007 130 Svs, 2639 SM, 254.35 RVUs • DANN: David Grau, 2007 169 Svs, 1838 SM, 212.27 RVUs • How do you explain the differences between the two reports? • Services: RDIR Counts only Level 1-6, DANN counts all • Service minutes: RDIR includes hygienist’s productivity • RVUs: RDIR includes hygienist’s productivity
