By having an online network which connects young professionals from around the world, it enables us to: • identify factors to retain Malaysian talent in Malaysia whilst nurturing the growth of a confident and competitive workforce required for Vision 2020; and • identify and engage Malaysians abroad and through positive action to inculcate, encourage and support their desire to contribute or return to Malaysia. The global economy is becoming much more competitive. The emergence of new, highly competitive regional and global companies, talent has increasing number of opportunities and location options. Hence, there is a need to demonstrate clear value proposition in order to attract and retain these talents. As services sector will account for a much greater share of the economy, i.e. 65% of GDP by 2020, up from 58% in 2010, we believe that we can help create a platform to attract talents from overseas, in line with the Economic Transformation Programme for Malaysia to be a high-income economy status by 2020. What is going on? Hmm..will my career path progress if working in Malaysia? Where are the talents? How do we reach out? Is it true that working in Malaysia is all work and no play? What do we need to do to attract the talents? Should I work in HK or Singapore or near home? How do we cope with the growth in services sector towards achieving high income economy status?
Why partner us? We are a group of young professionals from diverse industries who’ve experienced life both at home and abroad. In short - we are your target market. And this is the kind of solution that excites us. It excites us because we believe that this generation wants a vibrant workplace. What you’re tapping into is the specific knowledge and experience to understand the needs of prospective employees when trying to find a suitable career, i.e., salary, work environment and career progression. The management team that assembled has the best possible capacity to connect with the best talents from top universities and also working professionals, especially in the UK, Australia, the US and Singapore. This will dovetail with the efforts of TalentCorp to overcome some of the problems Malaysia is currently facing in terms of losing human capital to employers outside Malaysia. One of the problems faced by overseas students is that there is no avenue to ensure job security after they graduate. Overseas, in particular the UK and US, graduates are able to secure a job while still in their final year at undergraduate level. In Malaysia, there is not enough interaction and dialogue between those hiring and those being hired. With KORANG, there will be a platform for both employers and prospective employees to communicate in a more efficient, dynamic and centralised manner with minimal cost. Employers can now spot individual talents and personalities that spark their interest and are deemed suitable to work for their company - whether for a future role, a current vacancy, or even in some cases, a brand new position that will add value to the organisation. Both employers and employees will also gain information and participate in a dialogue with KORANG’s management to gain feedback on their recruitment and application strategies and how they could improve their approach.
