  6. WhatBones are made of • There are many layers that make up a bone • Some things that make up bones are yellow and red bone marrow, sponge bone and hard bone • All the things that make up bones give us support and without them, we would collapse The inside of a bone

  7. Joints and Ligaments • Ligaments are a fibrous tissue that connects bones to other bones • A joint is the location at which two or more bones connect • Ligaments are similar to fasciae and are made up of collagen • Joints are constructed to allow movement

  8. Major Bones • Femur is one of the major bones - it is the long bone in your leg • Skull is another major bone – it is the bone that protects your brain • The humorous bone is also one of the major bones -it is the bone in your elbow and forearm

  9. How The Skeletal System Works With Other Systems • We help protect the body's vital organs • The skin and the muscular system depend on the skeletal system to keep them in place • The skeletal system makes sure all the systems are in contact

  10. The H.B.C Must Keep Us • Without us, all the systems would end up in the wrong place • Without us, you won’t be able to move • You need us or you will collapse and you will just be skin and guts
