SAC project Location: Kote Taluk, Mysore Area (rural/urban): Urban Primary focus: Economically disadvantaged students wanting to pursue their 11th and 12th standards (I and II PUC) Update from the Project
Current students 75 students 25 Students from 2010-2011 Most will graduate this year Some of the students will be joining College and continue getting supported 15 Students from 2010-2011 Additional students to be sponsored 10 I PUC–Science students 10 I PUC–Commerce students 15 professional course students Total students for 2010-2011 school year: 60 Student Information
Initiatives • Social Projects by Students • Implementing a concrete project by end of year • Tutoring younger kids back home • Motivating people to build public toilets. • Seminar by the students • Planned and delivered by students • The responsibility transfers every 15 days • Students grade the performance • Confidence building • Public speaking
Initiatives-2 • Yuva Payna “Journey of Young Students” • Celebrate and congratulate older students • Planned by current students • Community building with old and new students • Other visits to other SVYM organizations.
Steps to Self Sufficiency • Additional sources of funding • Individual donors to sponsor students • Other donations of materials locally • Ex-students donating to the project( 30,000 donated last year • Redirecting left over funds from other SVYM organizations.
