They provide quick response, advice, and assistance to victims of doorstep crime, ensuring fair prices, cancellation rights, and warranties/guarantees. Doorstep Crime • Uninvited ‘cold callers’ offering home maintenance & gardening services, or selling goods. • Choose ‘vulnerable’ victims. • Excessive prices for often poor work. • Taking deposits/full amount and not returning to do the work. • Failing to give cancellation rights • Refusing to sort out problems. • Worthless or no guarantees/warranties. • Taking victim to withdraw cash. • Hard sell of products, causing fear to residents. • Distraction burglary/Bogus callers.
