Treaty Of Fort Laramie • On April 29, 1868 there was a treaty signed by the U.S. government and the Sioux village. • This treaty said that the tribe had to stay on this reservation in the Black Hills. • They did really agree to this because the land was not that great for farming.
The Second Treaty Of Fort Laramie • This treaty said that the Indians got more hunting rights, in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. • This treaty also ended the Red Cloud war. • Red cloud was the leader in this war because it was named after him.
Red Cloud War • This Battle was the most successful Indian war ever waged on the U.S. army. • This war lead to the battle of Little Big Horn and it took place in 1866. • When Red Cloud got back from war he never stopped getting his tribe freedom.
Who/When • This Battle Took place on June 26 1876 at the Little Big Horn River in Montana. • The two sides of this battle were the U.S. army and the Sioux tribe.
What Were The Names Of The Generals/ Leaders Of The BOLBH • The names of the Native American Leaders were Sitting Bull and Crazy horse. They had about 10,000 warriors. • The General for the U.S. army was George A. Custer he had a total of 211 men. They were out numbered by 800 men.
