10. 4801 La Crosse Avenue Driving Directions From Holiday Inn Express to St. Mary’s Parking downtown will be tight; we recommend allowing 30-40 minutes to arrive downtown and another 15 minutes to secure parking on the street or in a parking garage. The parking meters will be active on Friday evening only. Make a right onto the 290W frontage road and stay in the right lane. Follow the signs for “Loop 1North.” Go through the first light (Brodie), a second light, and a third light (Southwest Parkway). Shortly thereafter, enter Loop 1 via the entrance ramp on your left. Stay on Loop 1for approximately 3.8 miles. Take the “Cesar Chavez, 1st St., 5th St.”Exit and take your first right onto Cesar Chavez/1st St. Continue for about 1.5 miles, passing the hike and bike trail and Town Lake on you right. Go through the Guadeloupe and Congress intersections and take your next left, Brazos. St. Mary’s is at 10th and Brazos. From St. Mary’s to Holiday Inn Express Take 10th St. for one block and turn left onto Congress. Turn right onto 6th St. and continue for about 1.5 miles following the “Loop 1 South.” After you have driven under the Loop 1 overpass, make a right at the Atlanta Street intersection and bear left immediately to enter Loop 1 South. Continue for approximately 3.6 miles. Take the second exit after the Loop 360/Capital of Texas Highway Exit, called the “290 East, Southwest Parkway” Exit. It follows the “Frontage Road” exit by the Laquinta Inn. Go through the first light (Southwest Parkway), and at the next light, make a left onto the 290E frontage road. There is a Baja Fresh at this corner. Once onto the 290E frontage road, go through the Brodie lane intersection, and after you pass the Kohl’s department store, at the second light on the frontage road, make a U-turn onto the 290W frontage road under the 290 overpass. The Holiday Inn will be on your right. From the Holiday Inn to the Reception The Wildflower Center will not be open to wedding guests until 6P; the parking lot will open at 5:45P. Please allow 25 minutes to get from the Holiday Inn to the Wildflower Center, and another 5 minutes to walk to the reception. Take a right onto the 290W frontage road. Go through the first light (Brodie) and the second light. Make a left under the Loop 1 overpass onto the Loop 1 South frontage road. Go through the intersection. You’ll pass Target on your right. Go through the William Cannon intersection and stay in one of the two left lanes. (the lanes that bear right U-turn under Loop 1.) Go through the next light (Slaughter Lane), and at the third intersection, make a left onto La Crosse Avenue, crossing Loop 1 and coninuing through the next light. The Wildflower Center will be about 0.4 miles on your right. Completed in 1888, the pink granite statehouse stands 311 feet high and is 14 feet higher than our nation’s capitol. LBJ Presidential Library, 2313 Red River Experience life on Capitol Hill as it played out during the days of LBJ at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum.
