Our mission is to create a year round all encompassing self-sustaining art school where participants can learn and teach courses which cater to community and families. Our vision is to found a fun and soul enriching school within the community for local artists to share talents and promote local art which exposes and profiles local culture and attracts visitors and tourists.

SUMMER 2005 7 courses were taught 7 teachers employed $3825 in salaries paid 31 students registered
SUMMER 2006 • Portage-du-Fort • Heritage buildings • Beautiful scenery
7 courses were taught 13 teachers employed $4100 in salaries paid 63 students registered
Summer 2007 7 courses were taught 11 teachers employed $5007 in salaries paid 93 students registered
Summer 2008 8 courses ran 12 teachers and 1 graphic/web designer employed $8133 in salaries paid 106 students registered

Lessons Learned Funding – Apply everywhere! Think of less obvious sources such as Hydro Quebec and Telebec and be persistent with follow-up! Marketing – optimize promotion to reach your target audience Assessment – survey students, instructors and volunteers for areas of improvement and implement these ideas as much as possible Professionalism – create high-quality promotional materials and pay your instructors as professionals
