Updated Mission and Vision • Mission Statement - To create a program where athletes can develop to their highest potential – both in ski racing and in academic endeavors; building character and sportsmanship. We will guide and hold athletes, parents, coaches, and board members to the highest professional standards in ethics and sport. We will work to develop a passion for the sport of skiing, for fitness, for community, for academics, and for personal excellence. • Vision Statement - To develop and maintain one of the top non-profit USSA competitive skiing programs in the Nation; where athletes achieve their personal goals. The Foundation will increase the local community's awareness of alpine ski racing and facilitate the continuous growth of winter sports in Northern Utah through community involvement. The Foundation is committed to helping the State of Utah continue its ongoing Legacy of ‘The State of Sport’ through the development of model citizens and future Champions.
Code of Conduct In the event of Un-sportsmanlike conduct by the athlete the following course of action will be implemented for the first offense and subsequent infractions: • 1. Verbal warning from direct coach. The Program Director and Grievance Committee will be notified and the event logged. • 2. Discussion with the Program Director and Parent(s). • 3. Written warning signed by the coach, director, athlete, and parent(s). Athlete will incur a one month probation period. • 4. Two week suspension from all team relations, i.e. training, races, activities etc. Athlete will incur a one year probation period. • 5. Team suspension. No refund of team fees. Note: The above system isn’t linear and depending on the severity of the violation, multiple steps may be applied for a one time infraction.
Race Entry Procedure • As a service to you, all athletes will be automatically entered to their assigned races. • This is based on their registered program • (Devo, DE, JV, Varsity, JO, etc..) • Then based on their registered commitment level • (Full, Sat Only, etc..) • If you will NOT be attending you MUST notify • Troy at troyprice@comcast.net at least 5 days prior • to the scheduled event. • You will be charged a No Show fee of $20 for any missed races without proper notice.
Team Financials • Team Fees make up nearly 60% of the programs income, we rely on successful fundraisers, private donations, and hosted events to make up the other 40%. • Coaching is our primary expense at nearly 70%, other major areas of expense include; equipment, insurance, and administration. • Our Fiscal Year runs from July 1 – June 30. • All expenses which are not controlled by the Foundation are removed from Team Fees.

Hosted Races • Jan 9-10 – South Series GS on City Hill • Feb 13 – FIS GS on Wildcat • Feb 20 – YSL GS on City Hill • March 5-6-7 – IMD SG on Wildcat • March 12-13-14 – YSL State Championships (The Big One)
Athlete Management • Goal: • To manage Devo Team athletes race starts to best utilize their potential for success at their championship event. • Tactics: • Select 4-5 race starts per season. • Provide additional training opportunities at a reasonable fee during Christmas Camp, Friday and/or Wednesday afternoon.
Schedule • We ski every Saturday from Dec 12th to Mar 13th • We will have 4 races; as follows: • Park City YSL – Jan 16 – Sat • Brighton YSL – Feb 6 - Sat • Snowbasin YSL – Feb 20 – Sat • Wolf Creek Utah YSL Champs – Mar 12-13-14 –Fri-Sat-Sun • We offer additional training on Friday Afternoons before each race from 1-4pm. • We offer additional training on Wednesday afternoons from 3-6pm. • We offer additional training during the Christmas Break. Dec 28-29-30 from 9am-12pm.
Future Outlook • Establish a financial aid program to ensure athletes remain in the sport. • Build the enrollment in our Academy to 30+ athletes; by increasing our recruitment efforts and improving our retention rate. • Establish a Training Center for athletic development and staff. • Increase private donations. • Increase community awareness to youth winter sports. • Build our total athletes enrollment to 200+
