7. Peace Corps Healthy Schools ProjectGuatemala, Central America Every attempt is made to locate the hand washing station near the bath rooms or latrines to facilitate the training of children to wash their hands after going to the sanitary facility.

Global Grant Process Steps • After Proposal is approved by RI, submit On Line Application with following information: • Host and International Sponsor Information • Project Summary • Rotarian Participation • Cooperating Organizations • Project Planning • Sustainability and Measurability • Memorandum of Agreement signed by Cooperating Organizations

Project Partner Responsibilities D6970: $10K APLS (NGO) -Construction -Maint Training -Documentation -Liaison Rotary Club, Antigua -Funds Disbursement -Monitoring & Reporting RI: $15K Municipalities -Sweat Equity -Maintenance -H&H Training Peace Corps -Health & Hygiene Training -Liaison Rotary Club, Bartram Trail -Monitoring & Reporting 5 Clubs: $10K

12. Cooperating Organization Responsibilities • Bartram Trail (International Sponsor) • Review monthly reports from APLS (NGO) • Conduct Monitoring Trips • Conduct Interviews at Project Sites to ensure Hygiene Lessons have been implemented • Assist Host Sponsor if they discover problems and facilitate re-engagement with Peace Corp if necessary

13. Cooperating Organization Responsibilities • Rotary Club of Antigua, Guatemala • Open Bank Account in the name of the project • Disburse funds based on the schedule • Conduct a minimum of 2 Site Visits to each location during construction and upon completion • Attend School Celebrations when possible • Review Peace Corps Training Curriculum • Attend one Peace Corps Training Session • Develop questionnaire to verify Hygiene Implementation • Conduct Monitoring Visits after project construction is complete to ensure Sustainability

14. Cooperating Organization Responsibilities • Agua Para la Salud (NGO) • Receive and safeguard funding, invoices, and project documentation • Provide Letters of Commitment from APLS and PC • Provide details of location and cost of each school project • Execute Construction and Maintenance Training • Complete Final Audit • Assist Rotary in planning the project • Visit the Project Sites as needed and assist Rotary in writing Monthly Progress Reports • Act as a liaison with Schools, Peace Corps and Rotary

15. Peace Corps Responsibility • Peace Corps will provide: • Comprehensive Heath Education Program • Minimum of 2 Train the Trainers courses per School • Regional Supervisors necessary for monitoring • Expenses for Trainers and Regional Supervisors • Support required to ensure Teachers, parents and other stake holders will provide sufficient and accurate expenditures • Follow up to the healthy practices for a period of time not shorter than 4 years.
