2. John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

3. 4. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. 5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

4. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. 9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

5. “Abide in Me and I in you” – verse 4 Principle #1 - It takes two to abide. “the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine” verse 4 and “apart from me you can do nothing”. Verse 5 Principle #2 – there is no REAL fruit without abiding.

6. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. Verse 6 Principle #3 – The end result of “not abiding” is dust and ashes.

12. Two Key Aspects of Abiding Communion – the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially at a spiritual level. It is why we were created – Isaiah 43:7 Communion with God empowers our hearts. Psalm 40:8 Communion with God empowers our choices. Acts 13:2

15. Five Evidences of Abiding in Christ Fruit – John 15:5b - “he who abides in me and I in him, he bears much fruit.” Pruning – John 15:2 – “every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, so that it may bear more fruit” Dependence – John 15:5c – “apart from me you can do nothing”

16. Five Evidences of Abiding in Christ Answered prayer – John 15:7 – “ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.. Inner Joy – John 15:11 – “that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be full”
