    4. Between Application and Admission Initial acknowledgment confirms that the application was received Usually includes ID# and PIN# This is not an acceptance letter! May be via email or a regular letter (make sure to check email often for communications from the University and the campuses) UC applicants may update contact information after submitting their application at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/after-you-apply/update-transfer-application/ Change contact info (address, email, phone number) Log in to individual campus admission sites for messages, follow-up steps (to-do list), and admission status University Acknowledgement

UC Deadlines and Supplemental Information UCs require applicants to submit an online Transfer Academic Update Form Beginning: in early January Deadline: January 31st Need UC application ID number, user name & password If the student does not know their application ID number, call the UC Application Processing Center at (800) 523-2048 All applicants are required to submit a Transfer Academic Update, even if they do not have any work planned or in progress. The Transfer Academic Update should reflect any changes from the application: Add/Drop class New course grades posted

    9. Conditions of Admission Each campus sets its own specific conditions of admission. Students must carefully review each if they received more than one offer of admission. There are some similarities among conditions, but there are also differences.

Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) Deadline: June 1st Can accept only one offer within UC system Campuses will provide a web site for SIR Requires $100 nonrefundable deposit Statement of Legal Residence (SLR) Complete online by the deadline to ensure that registration fees are properly assessed Regardless of residency status, all students should complete and submit SLR Accepting the Offer SIR – June 1st deadline is VERY important, some campuses will not accept late SIRs SIR Bullet 1. Student Responsibilities Apply for Housing: Deadlines are often in early June Some campuses may have long wait lists for specific types of housing (family housing, etc.) Consult with Financial Aid: If initial aid offer from campus is insufficient, there may be an opportunity to appeal. Obtain IGETC Certification from CCC (if needed): This is the student’s responsibility and is not automatically posted on the transcript.     18. Orientation Program Students should attend a campus orientation, if possible. Benefits of participating include: Information about enrollment for fall (fees, financial aid, university policies) Tour of campus (and sometimes housing) Meet department adviser Meet other new students Find out about Student resources & campus life Some schools offer orientation sessions for parents. Fees usually apply, but it’s worth it!     19. Students should be aware of resources to assist them with a successful transition. Student learning centers provide: Study skills and time management courses Subject-specific study groups One-on-one tutoring Faculty and teaching assistants provide: Office hours Exam reviews Preparing for the Transition The advising structure on a University campus can be very different and more decentralized than what students are used to on a community college. Other campus offices are available to assist new students with social and personal issues: Transfer-specific support programs are offered for student parents, military veterans, etc. Student Health Centers provide counseling Student Life office can also assist with adjustment to the campus Preparing for the Transition
