Manhattan Landing – Recap • Interconnection facility in NYC for international & domestic R&E network • Following the lead of STAR TAP/StarLight, Pacific Wave, AMPATH it’s a carrier neutral, layer 2 exchange point • Partnership involving Internet2, NYSERNet & Indiana University’s Global NOC • Independent of Abilene infrastructure; direct bilateral peerings between connected R&E nets • Abilene’s T640 NYC core router will connect with 10GE at MAN LAN’s 1st light

  3. MAN LAN - Equipment • Initial equipment: Cisco 6513 • Frame only; mesh of vLANs • GigE & 10GE (LAN PHY) connections only • 16x1GigE installed • SX, LX/LH or ZX • 10GE blades added as needed • LR or ER
