New Vision and Mission Statements • NEW VISION STATEMENT---The USPCE facilitates stakeholder collaboration to address complex problems facing the pork industry and society through integrated education and research. • NEW MISSION STATEMENT--- USPCE works with the pork industry, post-secondary education, government, and allied industries to develop education and research programs that are delivered by our partner organizations to pork producers.
USPCE 3 Year Goals • Increase target audience utilization of all USPCE programs. • National Swine Reproduction Guide (NSRG)—By 2016, USPCE will have identified customers within all major swine genetics companies, swine reproduction service vendors, and within the top 100 pork production companies in the United States, increasing licensed users each year by at least 25%. Launching November 1, 2013. • Swine Science Online (SSO)—By 2016, Swine Science Online will offer a minimum of 12 courses to at least 400 students from 12 different land grant colleges. • Professional Swine Managers and Certified Swine Managers (PSM/CSM)—By 2016, the Professional Swine Managers Training program will reach 100 students annually through 6 community colleges serving the 10 major hog producing states. • Pork Information Gateway - will continue to be annually updated and maintained serving as the industry warehouse for the most up-to-date information on pork production knowledge that can be utilized by educators, students and producers.
USPCE 3 Year Goals • Launch Three New Learning Initiatives.In cooperation with university and community college partners, the USPCE will launch three learning initiatives over the course of the next three years that help producers such as increasing sow productivity, enhancing feed efficiency, improving swine health and improving worker safety .
USPCE 3 Year Goals • Deliver Effective Communication of Results to all Stakeholders in the Center. Integrated communication from USPCE to the center’s investors, collaborators, influencers and customers will create understanding, engagement and support for USPCE. This communication plan will be customized to each target audiences preferred methods of delivery whose success will be measured by an annual survey that will assess the target’s knowledge of the programs and activities of USPCE as well as the value derived by the target from the Center.
USPCE 3 Year Goals • Provide Direction on Research Priorities for the Pork Industry.USPCE will facilitate a information and input gathering process that culminates in an annual meeting that will bring together Land Grant Universities, Governmental agencies and Pork Industry leadership that creates and updates a big picture view of research needs for the industry and promotes collaboration amongst these stakeholders.
