Music Magazine Production By Angus Green
The genre of music I have gone for is a mixture between: • Hip hop • RnB The Genre
My magazine will be aimed at 16 year olds and up words. • I will price it cheaply so that so it is affordable for my primary audience. • The magazine will be aimed at males and females. • This magazine will be available for anyone whether there in work or not. Audience
Deep focus • Collaboration • i40 • ichart • Smooth current Names
The reader of the magazine would be aged 16-20 years of age either in sixthform or starting higher education. Has a part time job and likes to spend money on going to festivals and gigs. Grew up listening to a large variety of music influenced by parents and friends. Eventually decided to stay dedicated to chart music and hip hop and RnB in their free time, ending up listening to rappers such as A$AP Rocky and schoolyboyQ. Eventually he or she goes to a festival and after seeing the bands they want to see for the day go to the RnB tent and listen to the flo-rida set and end up really enjoying themselves. Then start to get more into more RnB that might not even be that current. Readers Profile
What makes my magazine particularly stand is that there are a very minuscule amount of music magazines out there that would specifically cover RnB and hip hop. Making my music magazine quite specialised, in the way that it is tailored to fit the taste of a mixed crowd. It also serves as guide to people who have just discovered the genre of either, as many of the artists wouldn’t be easily accessible. However they would be publicised in this magazine through interviews, album reviews and even free E.Ps. Also being a britishbased magazine smaller acts would have a lot more exposure through the magazine, and also the main venues would be advertised. Unique Selling Point
What my magazine sets out to do is to introduce young people to what is new and fresh in the two different genre’s before it gets old or worse; remains undiscovered. But at the same time keep readers up to date with tours and projects through interviews with existing artists who have already established themselves in the genre’s. Editorial mission statement
