Newsletter • Wes Chou (GL) • Jeff Voas • Margo McCall (SE) • Current task: Define layout format. • Sub-task#1 – Confirm IEEE-CS Content Management/Formatting guidelines. Does the entire page have to be updated in a single section, or can their be rolling updates with RSS notification? • Sub-task #2 – Identify categories that would be logically grouped. For example, left column for news/calendar/announcements, middle column for articles, etc. • Sub-task #3 : Identify components/sub-categories of CC that could be used to help highlight/distinguish submissions. This could map to the categories list discussed in the Publishing Slide.
Michael Kozuch (GL) • Rick McGeer • ? (PM) Testbed • Requests for resources to consider: • Open Cirrus: https://opencirrus.org • AWS in Education: http://aws.amazon.com/education • MS, etc. – check for free offerings for education • Collaboration with CF, ST, ED, and PB groups • Recruit volunteers.
Michael Kozuch (GL) • Rick McGeer • ? (PM) Testbed • Known needs: • Prototyping/testing infrastructure for CC standards groups • Special need for federation/interoperability testing • Infrastructure to support academic CC research • System software research may require bare metal access • Ideally, at scale • Goals: • Short term: Develop mechanism to support small number of academic research proposals as initial test • Medium term: Identify a number of existing testbeds and determine collaboration policies/mechanisms to enable inter-testbed research/development • Open Cirrus, Open Cloud, FutureGrid, GENI, etc. • Industrial partners • Non-goals (at least, for now): • Commercial quality infrastructure • E.g., start-ups should not prototype on this infrastructure • Supplying compute infrastructure to support non-CC research
Determining CC Assets • Conferences (CF) + WP • Standards (ST) • Education (ED) + WP • Publishing (PB) + WP
PavanBalaji(GL) • Jia Zhang • Carrie Walsh (SE) • Carmen Saliba(SE) Conferences • Consider: • Major CS CC conferences • Search on Cloud, Cloud Computing, Cluster Computing, Grid Computing (Sponsored by, Contact email, Attendance ,Key words metadata) • Collaboration with WP and TB groups • Recruit volunteers.
Chuck Walrad (GL) • Phil LaPlante • Anne Marie Kelly (SE) Standards • P2301 and P2302 Vice Chairs – CS experts • Top 10corporations affiliated with P2301 & P2302 Working Groups • Collaboration with WP and TB groups • Recruit volunteers.

Wes Chou (GL) • Vojislav Misic • George Pallis • Lars Jentsch (SE) • Alicia Stickley (SE) CC Publishing • Materials to consider: • Major CS CC publications • Xplore queries – identify most "productive" authors • Collaboration with WP and TB groups • Recruit volunteers.
Wes Chou (GL) • Vojislav Misic • George Pallis • Lars Jentsch (SE) • Alicia Stickley (SE) Publishing • Current task: Provide next level of detail with regards to the CC related submissions into IEEE and IEEE CS. • Sub-task#1 – Agree upon a short list of categories in which currently published articles can be placed. • Sub-task #2 – Search current IEEE/CS databases for articles and create a sample set bar chart of each category defined above. • Question : If we recruit other volunteers for this effort, are there temporary DL accounts that we can provide if they don’t have them already?
