A New Generation of Network Fax Servers for Business and Enterprise The purpose of this training is to provide our VARs/Partners education and knowledge of Castelle Network Fax Servers as well as the opportunity to have training of FaxPress installation and configuration.

FaxPress Email Gateways allows users to send and receive faxes directly through email. Support for Exchange, Lotus Notes, GroupWise, and any SMTP compliant email environments. Makes sending faxes as simple as sending email with email attachments rendered into fax files. Can be configured for automatic inbound fax routing, or fax notification via email. Consists of 2 Windows services and a configuration utility. What is the Email Gateway? Email Gateways
Email Gateway with Generic SMTP – Use to integrate with SMTP Mail systems. Email Gateway with Exchange – Use to integrate with Exchange environments (Exchange SMTP or MAPI). Lotus Notes Gateway - For native integration with Lotus Notes . Outlook Direct - No Exchange Server Required (client side solution). What is the Email Gateway? Email Gateway Options
Need host machine to run Email Gateway. Account with Local Administrator rights to run the services. May create service account for email gateway services. Account must be granted to log in as a service – can be assigned via Local Security Policy. FaxPress client installed. All applications used for attachments installed. Login with same account used for the email gateway services. Launch applications at least once to properly register them. No other SMTP services running on machine. Mail Server Configuration varies depending on server. Before You Begin
Log in to machine as either local Administrator, Domain Admin, or Email Gateway service account. Install from FaxPress setup CD by selecting Email Integration under Add-on products. The installation process will prompt you for a user account name and password. Once service is installed, the configuration utility will be launched. Installing the Email Gateway

Allows users to easily send faxes through MS Office Outlook in Exchange environments. Send faxes from Outlook Address Book. (Use business fax entries in personal contacts.) Faxes manually addressed in “To:” field: [Fax:Name@Number]). For other SMTP environments: number@fax.yourdomain.com Fax addressed email is routed to the email gateway to process as an outgoing fax. Not used for incoming fax-to-email. Consists of a Windows service and connector property sheet in Exchange System Manager. (Snap-in utility for Exchange 2007.) Support for Exchange 5.5/2000/2003/2007. Exchange Connector
Login to Exchange server with Schema Admin rights. Install from FaxPress setup CD by selecting email integration under add-on products. The installation process will require you to specify an Email Gateway Machine (host name). Recommend to run Exchange connector as Local System Account. One or both of the Email Gateway services does not start. Check service login credentials. Check for other SMTP service(s) running on machine. Outbound email-to-fax messages bounce back (Exchange Environments). Is Exchange Connector Installed/running? Check Exchange Connector trace on Exchange server (\Program Files\Castelle\FaxPress\FPCon\FPConDebug.log). Reboot Exchange Server. Troubleshooting Typical Scenarios
Outbound email-to-fax messages are not being faxed. Does FaxPress Work? Are Email Gateway services started? Is Email Gateway properly configured? Check Email Gateway outgoing trace log (emailtrace.txt). Check Exchange Connector trace on Exchange server (\Program Files\Castelle\FaxPress\FPCon\FPConDebug.log).
