What Is A Pediatrician? • A pediatrician is a child's physician who provides health maintenance for healthy children, and medical care for children who are ill. • Pediatricians manage the physical, mental, and emotional behavior of their patients. They also help in every stage of development in good health or in illness.
What Type Of Education Is Needed For A Pediatrician? • They must receive an High School Diploma. • After completing medical school for about 4 years, they must then complete three years of education in an pediatric residency program. • In the pediatric residency training they learn how to care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. • After the pediatric residency, they receive an certification by the American Board of Pediatrics. If they do not get certified recertification is required every seven years.
Degrees Required To Become Pediatrician • A Bachelor of Science (BA) • A Doctor Of Medicine(MD) • Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) • Associate's Degree (AA)
