Job Description • A pediatrician is a doctor that specialized in working with newborns, children and teenagers. • What they do is diagnose or treat injuries, infections or diseases but they also have to counsel some of the children and make them feel better about themselves. • They may be faced with various challenges and they also have to be good under pressure.
Working Conditions • The working condition of pediatricians vary. • They can work in hospitals with children that need their help, they can work in their own private offices, in health clinics or government agencies. • Most paediatricians work from 8 – 12 hours a day depending on where. They must be willing to come to work at night and/or weekends and work for long periods of time.
Earnings • Earnings depend on the working condition of these doctors like the country they are in, where they work, how much time they spend working, etc… • Earnings also vary on the experience a person has with this job and how many years it has been into practice. • An average pediatrician usually makes $100,000 to $300,000 a year. Why I would like to be a pediatrician • I would love to be a pediatrician because I think it is a beautiful job. You get to help children throughout their social problems and health issues. • I personally love children and working with them and understanding how they act, think, speak… I also enjoy giving advice and helping them out with problems. • One of my dreams is to become a pediatrician and once I am financially stable to go out on missionary trips and help kids in developing countries that don’t get the same health care as people in developed countries. • I am friendly and determined to pursue this career and help children out. • Plus it pays very good salary and it may help me sustain myself and my future family.
