Objective After the lesson students are able to: • Use the Basic Search buttons in the Destiny Catalog to find a book by author, title or subject • Find the book’s call number in the Destiny Catalog • Review finding the book on the library shelves • Will be able to use library catalog to locate information

  2. Basic Catalog Search • This will allow us to look for books by a favorite author, by the book title, or by the subject, or what the book is about.

  3. How to Search Identify the “find” box and the search buttons for the students. The catalog may be searched by: • Keyword • Title • Author • Subject • Series

  4. 1st type in search term 2nd choose type of search

  5. Tips When searching for books, there are some important things to remember: • 1. Words do not need to be capitalized • 2. Correct spelling is essential • The words in a title search need to be in the correct order

  6. Activity • Students will complete the Destiny Catalog Activity provided at the station.
