Procedure: Find the longest run from the gas meter to the farthest appliance. Use linear feet. Add up the Btuh input of all appliances connected to this gas line. Enter the table at the longest run column and don’t get out of it again. Size all piping using this column (mains, branches, etc.).
Longest run = 15 + 10 + 3 + 3 + 46 + 2 = 87 Linear Feet 8 +
Total Btuh input of all appliances = 45 + 60 = 290,000 Btuh 100 + 50 + 35 +
Longest run = 87’ Pipe size = 1 ¼” Total input = 290 MBH
1 ¼” 290 – 150 = 140,000 Btuh
