  1. Why did the Roman Empire fall?

  2. How many emperors were there in the century they are looking at • Cause of death - how many were murdered, committed suicide, died of natural causes or were killed in battle • Of the Emperors that were murdered who murdered them: family, Praetorian Guard, Generals, own soldiers or other soldiers • Look at those emperors that died by suicide or natural causes and look at 'further details.' Should any of these really be classified as 'murdered'? • Were any emperors in their century threatened by plague or revolts • External threats: which emperors were threatened by Persia (this was an empire to the east of the Roman Empire), Dacia (a Roman province north of the River Danube), Alans, Germans, Goths, Huns, Vandals (these were barbarian tribes outside the Roman Empire)
