He pushed towards the renaissance by reintroducing the philosophy of Aristotle to the west. • This was a very materialistic philosophy, compared to the philosophy of Plato, which up to this time dominated Christian philosophy. He helped to shatter the medieval worldview, leading to the Renaissance.
