NOAA Field Trips By TJ Tigley
Helping the Environment • In this picture it shows when we were at Maunalua Bay. There I learned what a vine can do to other plants. The vine's name was pickle weed which I had to overgrow. I learned about pickle weed. I also learned different ways to help the environment. I was able to plant two plants to overgrow pickle weed.
Learning at Maritime Museum • At Maritime Museum we learned about different things like old hawaiians and there boats. We also learned how to build one and what they used to build them. In this picture it shows us learning about different things in the ocean which is shown in the big ship over there.
Marine food chain • This is the food chain we learned about at HIMB. It shows what eats what in the ocean.
Some things we Found • At HIMB we found britle stars. We found them when we took some things out of a lake.
Studying Birds • At the maritime museum we went on a fake atoll to study different birds. The birds were fake too but don’t they look really real? We studied about atolls, birds, and other things. It was fun to learn on that atoll that looks so real.
Conclusion • After all those field trips and learning I know how to care for the ocean. All the field trips were fun and I learned a lot and never knew the ocean could be in trouble by invasive algae. I now know how to take care of the ocean so now I can take care of it.
