Temporary Assistance to Families is a cash/employment support program for families. This service provides cash assistance to families until they obtain employment or other means of supporting their families. Temporary Assistance to Families
General Assistance A state funded program that provides disabled individuals who meet the income and resource guidelines cash assistance while they pursue Social Security Benefits.
Grandparents as Caregivers This program gives financial assistance to grandparents and other qualifying relatives raising children, if certain eligibility requirements are met including age, legal custody and income guidelines.
Food Assistance This subsidy program assists eligible individuals and/or families in meeting their nutritional needs and expands their ability to purchase a variety of foods.
Child Care The Childcare Assistance program provides income eligible families with the financial resources to afford quality childcare.
Child Support Enforcement Services provided by Kansas CSE include diligent efforts to locate an absent parent, establish paternity if necessary and enforce orders for child and medical support.
Children and Family Services SRS offers a variety of programs that support families while addressing stresses that impair family functioning. Family Centered Systems enable parents to care for their children and build on natural resources of the family and community.
Adult Protective Services APS protects the most vulnerable adults from harm while safeguarding their civil liberties. • Receiving reports of abuse, exploitation, or neglect. • Investigating these reports • Conducting assessments • Utilizing community resources • Providing emergency services • Monitoring and evaluating Interventions include but are not limited to:
Employment Help for Persons with Disabilities Rehabilitation Services help Kansans with disabilities find employment and provide job-related counseling and guidance.
Health Coverage • Medicaid – Covers adults receiving TAF, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens. • Healthwave 21 – Covers children up to age 19 who do not qualify for Medicaid. • Medikan – Covers persons who receive General Assistance. SRS offers medical assistance to help cover health care cost. We have three major plans for persons who qualify:
Medicare Cost Saving Programs • Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) - This program assists income and resource eligible individuals help with paying their Medicare premiums, deductibles and co-insurance. • Limited Income Medicare Beneficiary (LMB) - This program only assists in paying Medicare B premiums for eligible individuals . • Medicare Part D Subsidy This program assists with Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage including premiums, deductibles and co-payments.
Working Healthy Working Healthy offers people with disabilities who are working or interested in working the opportunity to keep their health coverage while on the job.
Substance Abuse / Mental Health Services Substance Abuse ServicesMental Health Services • Assessment and Referral Medication Management • Detoxification Attendant Care • Residential and Outpatient Treatment Individual Community support • Specialized services for women with Crisis Stabilization Services Children SRS contracts with Substance Abuse Providers and Community Mental Health Centers to provide services for Kansas residents who meet the income guidelines and/or receive a medical card. Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) • Development Disability (DD) Waiver • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver • Frail Elderly (FE) Waiver • Physically Disabled (PD) Waiver • Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) Waiver • Technology-Assisted Children (TA) Waiver Services provide care to individuals to maintain or improve their overall condition allowing them to remain in their own homes rather than an institutional setting Services Include:
Electronic Benefit Transfer • The Vision card looks and works like a debit card • Purchases are electronically subtracted for the account. Food Assistance Childcare Cash
