Specific Programs: Climate Change • Co-Benefits Program: all positive outcomes associated with multiple, simultaneous emissions reductions of greenhouse gases. • Methane-to-Markets: advances methane recovery from coal mines, landfills, oil and gas systems, and agriculture for use as a clean energy source

Specific Programs: Health • 1965: U.S.-Japan Cooperative Medical Science Program established. • 14 of 27 NIH entities have bilateral activities, hosting 342 Japanese researchers at NIH labs • CDC, USAID and JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) • FDA and MHLW (Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare)
